post from anarchy, under the bed, and analog1/livejournal
sorry i did not have time 2 make it look nicer or make more sense...i am trying 2 get this anagram up since i keep putting it off since it keeps growing larger every day. i have been really slacking on a lot of things, i'm sure you've noticed...but such is life...
having lots of heated discussions in anarchy..some of them quite junior high. and the election! oy! and me getting the flu and then it has not been sunny here at all for over a week now. just grey grey grey days that seem like night. i need some solar power to rev me up again! everything is in a dissarray and i am ridiculous unorganized and spaced out or deep in thought about a zillion weird things having to do with psychology, communication, and interdimensions. i want 2 take some yoga and tai chi lessons. so much 2 do. bills being unpaid. house going 2 hell. and my body, too. a couple of my medications were making me gain weight and bloat out. but now i'm trying some others. adjusting adjusting. i don't even recognize my own body anymore. i'm used to weighing 95-97, and now i weigh 120. how did that happen? i stopped stretching. i need to get back to that. i need 2 figure out how much a cab would cost to go back and forth from my fave healthy food market. i need to move, dance, stretch , get on a treadmill. i was making some headway for a few weeks last month...then i slacked back. time to kick myself in the ass again and have some frickin discipline. i swear i will weigh at least 100 by the time the real millenium says hello.i want 2 write more , read more, WATCH MORE MOVIES!i want 2 live each day more 2 the fullest. i want 2 eat sushi everyday. i need 2 find a way 2 make money 2 buy a house. i will fight this entropy and zap myself back. my body is making me the most depressed. i don't dress uo anymore. i don't put on make up. partly because i don't fit into all my clothes like i used to. i ignore the cam because of it. i wish i had more of a warrior spirit to just play with this new shape. but dammit, i just don't feel "right". i'm embarrassed. my fcae is bloated and broken out. make up doesn't look as good on me as it used to. i wish i could look healthy and vibrant like catherine hepburn did and catherine deneuve.my my my.
i want 2 make films. i want 2 learn flash! i want 2 feel like not hiding my body under big sweat shirts. i never thought i could get this way. but i learn new things each year. i'll make it through this. i'm passed the crisis stage. i'm not trying 2 wallow, i'm just trying 2 show u way i haven't been doing more cam things. and my mobile cam has been down so long. it's needs a new wireless modem. i miss taking the cam out with me...probably why i turned to polaroids.
oh i have so many polaroids to scan and show u! and i have so many stories 2 tell u about little advetures i've had!

i used to keep posts over in ana2's under the bed around longer than a week if i thought that the conversation had not come to its end...but because so many people were offended by that...i now use the one week standard over there , too

Hey Ana (and whoever else would care to comment):

I am very disturbed by all of the violence that children, young adults, and even adults are exposed to in today's feature films and television shows. One thing that has really bothered me since I was a small child is all of the groin shots that seem to pop up in just about every movie made since the 80's. I don't konw if you have noticed, but boys and men getting kicked (or hit in some other way) in the crotch is soooo common today, that many children and young adults feel that it is actually humorous, acceptable behavior in real life. I can remember crying every time I saw that happen in a movie as a child, and I still cry when I see it today. It really bothers me that people feel that it is something to laugh at and use as cheap comedy. Growing up, I witnessed numberous instances where girls kicked boys in the crotch just because they were "bothering them" or because they thought it would be funny. I was kicked there in 2nd grade for no apparent reason by a girl, and I have been seeing a counselor and been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress symptom due to that situation (thank God for prozac). I just find it upsetting that girls will never have to deal with this pain and they have no idea what it feels like, so they just think it is funny, which it's not. It can be very serious, causing a boy to lose the ability to have children, need to have one or both of his testicles removed, and various other hardships. If it is a situation where physical abuse, rape or something to that nature is a definate threat, then I am not totally against doing this, but I am saddened to see just how often this occurs these days. I just wanted to hear your thoughts on this subject, but remember that it is a very sensitive topic with me...Here is an article I found in the Journal of the American Medical Association:

Kick in pants exposes boys to groin pains

Two in 10 boys has been kicked in the groin by another kid, often a girl, a study shows.

While the groin kick is a favorite of Hollywood, researchers say it's no laughing matter. It causes physical and emotional injury.

"Because of the intensity of the pain involved in this kind of act, you can imagine how it may give a child a lot of concern," says David Finkelhor, Family Research Laboratory, University of New Hampshire, Durham. "The medical community and educators need to know there may be injuries that need attention and children who need reassurance."

Finkelhor and colleague Janis Wolak phone surveyed 1,042 boys and 1,024 girls ages 10 to 16 and did a follow-up survey a year later. Findings in today's Journal of the American Medical Association:

Most cases occurred in seventh- and eighth-grades, when children enter puberty and are preoccupied with their genitals.

Boys with a physical limitation, usually eyeglasses or asthma, were three times more likely than other boys to get kicked in the groin.

59% of assaults were by girls who said they were being harassed or teased. The others were usually committed by bullies as pranks or by gangs in fights.

Most boys did not tell an adult about the assualt. But 35% were injured. A year later 28% had signs of depression and 15% had post-traumatic stress symptoms.

Says Finkelhor: "When I was growing up, you never hit below the belt. But today it appears in many movies - either as humor, as in Dumb and Dumber, or as a heroic thing where the beleaguered good guy turns the tables on the evil guy."

Kids are probably getting the message that it's "OK to do this either as a joke or to get even with someone," he says.

ANOTHER ARTICLE ON THE TOPIC:

How is penile penetration of a woman's vagina against her will a worse crime than bludgeoning a man's testicles? In the rape of a woman, is the biological foundation of her sexual identity -- her ovaries -- much at risk? The harsh fact is, a woman could be raped every day of her life and her ovaries might never be at risk. But it should be obvious the biological foundation of a man's sexual identity -- his testicles -- are at risk should you strike him there.

Every woman who ever kicked a man's testicles would likely say, "He had it coming." How many convicted rapists have made the same excuse? "She had it coming." There is no difference, and every woman who has ever kicked a man's testicles is guilty of rape.

EVERY woman who has EVER kicked a man in the groin is guilty of rape? EVERY SINGLE ONE?

i wish that u would stop overgeneralizing while trying to make a point...as it comes off as very offensive.

sexual harrassment is also up in schools at an alarming rate. as in boys to women.

also rapists DO say "she had it coming" , they say " she was asking for it" and this statement has actually stood up as a good enough reason for most of history..and still does today...

saying that raping a women repeatedly is not as harmful as one kick to a man's groin is bullshit. don't even go there with me.

do i think that a kick to a man's groin is funny?
no i don't.
i don't like a lot of cartoons for the same reason.
i don't like the three stooges or laurel and hardy either...who beat the crap out of each other. written by men.
see how many men LIKE the three stooges or laurel and hardy as opposed to women.

i don't even like the carton roadrunner or even bugs bunny. i don't like porky pig that is ridiculed for his stutter. i don't like all that FAT people jokes that are always fair game.

i don't like people making fun of gay people all the time.
i don't like how there are so many movies that are all about cutting up a young sexy woman. what the fuck is the deal with that?
i don't like any gore movies for that matter.

look, i am not your enemy here. by arguing with me that violence is bad. I AGREE!

but of all your films where a man is punched in the nuts...find out how many of those scripts were written by MEN!

all in all, i would say that perecentage wise it's MEN who think violence is funny and entertaining.

and btw, a woman CAN be raped ONCE and get barren because of it.

so you've been kicked in the nuts once by a girl...and i am sorry for that. maybe that i syour reason behind the whole men's rights thing for u. i can understand that if no one was empathetic to that 2 u.

but u are really coming after the wrong people here. MOST women are NOT apt to just come up 2 u and kick u in the balls unless u are a serious threat 2 her. so, i doubt that will ever happen to u again ( unless u are in a roomful of women and u start preaching that rape to a woman is far less harmful than getting kicked in the balls )

the closest thing a man could feel to get raped is to be raped in his ass. which still isn't the same thing because to many women ( and i think this is just awful that is is this way )..is that her virginity is stolen, or she will now be considered a whore and have no worth whatsoever and in many places she will be shot if this is so because it is shameful to the family.

tell me a place in the world where this is so for the man. tell me of a place in the world where the world will shun u and u are not fit to married EVER if u get kicked in the ball's?
tell me a place where your own family will seek you out and kill u if this happens to u?

not to mention it's not as bad in society's eyes a bit because a mna can be hurt there be accident...practically "asking for it" ( football..our countries most celebrated load of crap ever )
tell me what act a woman could do where she could go "oops, i was playing a fun game that america loves and pays me milions of dollars for and i accidentally got raped by the football!"

if men see their balls getting hurt as an act of rape. WHY do men play so much damn football? the money? well,m they must be whore then!

( i am just trying to show u the irony here )

i would also bet that men kick men in the ball's even MORE than women do. i'd like ot see a study on that.

i am not saying it's funny nor should be ignored...i'm just telling u that u are really barking up the wrong tree here.

why don't we start with why so many people think the three stooges are funny...and most of them are men?
or how about boxing?
ya, there's a sport that many women watch as opposed to men and cheer on and make bets on.
you'll find that most women are like "what the fuck is the deal with boxing and WHY is that fun to watch???
i said MOST women not ALL women

isn't one of the oldest jokes about how women cannot peel men away from the tv when football is on?

i am not saying all men watch football...i am saying that it has been a long standing joke

also, a woman is raped ever 6 seconds...and that's only the ones that are REPORTED

but yes, i agree that a man getting hit in the balls is not funny. i have never found violence funny. not even when it's an accident...like ye olde slipping on a banana peel. or people slipping on ice

Saying "hit in the nuts" and "kicked in the balls" is offensive to me, and I think you know this. I'm sorry I brought this up. :*(

Testicles is the term I prefer. I like the real names for sexual organs. But this brings up another point... Why is it okay for everybody and their brother to say "dick" all the time in a variety of different contexts and not okay for anybody to say "cunt" in any case? They are the equivalent of each other, male=female dirty slang. I've always wondered about this. I do not use any of these terms, so don't think I am encouraging the use of any of these words.

maybe it's because there are still millions of people who's legal names are "dick" , whereas no ones legal name is "cunt" ( not that i know of anyway )

some people are going to get offended over some words and others are not. whereas i use pussy, some women would find that gross. ah there was that woman in the james bond film, too..pussy galore?

and their still is the cartoon, dick tracy
one of my best friend's names is dick, and i hate to call him by that name as much as it is his name! i'd prefer to call him richard, but he prefers dick! go figure!

i agree that people should not call people dick ( unless it's their name )i do try very very hard not to call people dick ( unless it's their name ) in a deragatory fashion.

Why don't you take responsibility for your own comments please? To ask: Happy Ana? because *she* made *you* feel like shit is just really too much. Someone a while back said you act in a passive-aggressive manner, and I agree. You put out articles for people to respond to, then when they respond honestly and from the heart, you fall back on the "it's just an article" response, then do the hurt puppydog thing if someone calls you on any of your comments or quotes.

I have no problem with people calling me on my comments or quotes. I do have a problem with people being insensitive in the way they react to them. I take it personally and feel personally attacked. Why is that so difficult to understand? And don't try to belittle my feelings by calling it "the hurt puppydog routine." u are COMPLETELY not understanding what u are doing here. why are u taking things personally when everything you've posted here is a cut and paste from somewhere else? 1/2 of it u don't agree on anyway?

there is a way to show your true emotions without doing it in a passive aggressive manner.

#1, u need to start learning to effectively communicate before u can move farther down this road. there are a lot of books on this subject. i think it would do u well for the rest of your life to read a few if u want to be at the forefront of a mens' movement and get your point across without saying things like " you hate me now. should i leave? i should leave shouldn't i? "
which are not the qualities of an effective communicator.
can u see a person saying that in a board meeting?
" you hate me now because of my poorly drawn charts and graphs don't you? i should just fire myself shouldn't i? do u want me to fire myself?"

i mean, can u SEE how that is coming across?
and if you're answer to that is no, then yes, i'd like you to fire yourself...because i don't have time to communicate with people who only want to hear the things they WANT to hear said back to them.

go over to a men's movement bbs then. i'm sure you'll get the results u want over there.

thank u :) altho, even i, yes thee great almighty faerie queen ( although it maybe hard to believe since i am just so PERFECT *must be the cocktail of dangerous medication that my doctor prescribed me that makes me so brilliant *hiccup* ) could communicate more effectively. so hard to when there are so many languages!
but i get better as i study other people's writing methods that i think are better than i am ( like Terri or Stacy or Fetik3 )

and then there's the whole talking in person method which is more difficult as it is more easy!

i find communication SO interesting! (duh :)
and SO infinite a subject! it sure is hard most often to do it effectively!

This is the first I've responded to your posts and you make it sound like I have a vendetta against you. I don't. My suggestion is to take care of yourself but avoid creating monsters out of everyone else.

My feelings get hurt easily too. But if I post something that's sure to bring up strong opinions, I should be able to handle those strong opinions. If I can't handle it, I should (1) avoid generating the strong opinions in the first place, (2) avoid blaming others for my inevitable hurt feelings or (3) try to avoid letting my feelings be hurt. What good does it do to keep going through the same self-destructive patterns repeatedly?

if serendipity didn't say that..then why ae u posting to her post saying that people are calling u a fucking idiot?

could u be CLEAR for ONCE?

if i had no respect for u would i tell u that i empathize with u getting kicked in the testicles?

if i had no respect for u, u would be off this bbs in no time flat.

how can i hate u for your ideas when u keep posting everyone else's ideas and not your own?

so tell me, do u WANT me to kick you out?

i don't hate u. but i do think u are extremely annoying and passive aggressive with poor skills in communication

i think some of your ideas are very interesting things to discuss or else WHY would i be discussing them?

believe me, if i hate someone , that someone won't even have the TIME to ask me if i hate them!

but my annoyance at u is growing quite large now. especially since i told u that i HEAR your ideas and i UNDERSTAND your pain...yet u do not want to SEE that ( it would seem ) as u don't acknowledge that fact and are now telling me that u think i hate u.

do u WANT me to hate u?

it would seem to me that u WANT me to hate u or kick u out because then it would be easier to see me as the sure enemy. what do u think of that?

Maybe my initial posts make it seem that way since they are usually just articles on topics, but that is something that I will change. I do not see you as the enemy, I actually thought of you as a friend until tonight. So no, I don't want you to hate me and I don't want you to kick me out. I do have one request though, let me know when I annoy you in the future so that I may address it and not be surprised to find out I annoyed you since that has always been my LAST intention.

another rule of communicating more effectively, especially on bbs and chat, since we cannot hear the tone of your voice nor facial expressions is to use the word at the end of sentences which u meant in a sarcastic way, but mostly likely will not be taken that way if u do not put the word at the end of them.

sometimes sentences are CLEARLY sarcastic and sometimes they are not...which is another thing about communication that good to know.
when i doubt, put the word at the end.

can't tell when there'll be a doubt?
then put the word at the end of it.

how can people tell when i am being sarcastic but cannot tell when u are?

1stly u never joke, nor have u even shown a sense of humour...not that i can tell anyway

and secondly most people on this bbs know what i would and wouldn't say because they know me as much as u can know a person from a bbs.
the observe.

another great tool of effectively communicating is to observe all the ways that people are communicating around u as to get a "feel of the room" or the "vibe of the bbs"

i can be sarcastic about the asskissing thing (as well as many other people on here ) because we know each other and we know that the whole ass kissing thing is something that gets said SO often by SO many bitter people who do not share their view..that it's funny

however, we do not know u very well, and even if u DID mean that sarcastically...it wasn't well done sarcasm...as sarcasm is a very subtle communication just as all good humour is

u really need to chill out and take it easy yourself!

that isn't going to work either.

i'm just showing u how u are coming off to me, and how u could debate more effectively.

u can't tell me that i was supposed to read your mind and know which things u are posting u agree on and which u do not.

u HAVE 2 be VERY clear. especially in dealing with the typed word. don't try the crybaby tactic on me. learn to debate more effectively by being clear on your issues

u think *i* don't feel like shit having read many of your posts? having my pain invalidated because of yours? just as i am sure u are feeling that way too? like my pain is just OVER now because there was a woman's lib movement in the 70's when i was ten..but the same shit is still happening and i am not supposed to have any pain and now i am to "prepare" for the "men's movement" like i am a big bad man mater?

i KNOW what it is like to have pain and then have hundreds of people daily saying that i am a whiny crazy bitch.
i KNOW what it feels like to have my pain invalidated on an hourly basis. i can UNDERSTAND that u are just trying to show that men and women should be equal. that's what feminism is all about. i HEAR u, i HEAR u

i would hope that because of the pain u have endured this might make u EMPATHIZE what women have been going through for thousands of years! we (most us,anyway)are NOT your enemy!

i mean just look at rock as one example of how fuct it is. women are never doing rock we are just "women in rock"
when courtney love acts like mick jagger she is a whore.
and then we had the lovely "year of women in rock"
oh THANKS, we get a whole YEAR? how nice. :|

and that is on the GOOD end of what we experience.

why not try to empathize with us and UNITING us than telling women to get prepared because the men's movement is coming *shudder shudder*
oh , like we don't deal with a men's movement every day?

it fucking sucks to be invalidated. as u should know from your experience.

if u would use your pain to empathize and reach out to others in pain rather than to be on the defensive like women are your enemy...you would find a HUGE support system for u, many open arms waiting for u

justin, i am sorry that you have had to deal with the physical and emotional pain thoughtlessly and cruelly inflicted on you by another.

It is completely unacceptable for anyone to kick a guy in the testicles as a joke or simply to hurt them. But please understand a woman kicking a man in the crotch is not necessarity the same as rape. When a woman is attacked by a man, one of the most effective defensive measures she can take is to knee him in the balls. the key word here is DEFENSIVE. Rape, on the other hand, is an act of violence that is never defensive. It is an offensive assault. There IS a difference between the two.
(meanwhile - i'm completely baffled as to what the ovaries are supposed to have to do with rape. rape is a act of violence that has nothing to do with reproduction. the act of rape would be the same act of violence even if the woman had not ovaries (or uterus, for that matter). men are victims of rape as well, and that obviously has nothing to do with reproduction.

ya, and i wish i had thought of that as i was typing...an act of rape is never an act of defense. it is an act of hatred. no guy ever said "oh my , i am afraid of getting kicked in the balls by this woman! i better rape her to stop it!"

a man would more likley punch her or shoot her
so rape and getting kicked in the balls are not comparable.

not to take away from the fact that i am sorry that u were scarred for life from getting kicked in the balls. that is just awful

I go away for a day, and all hell breaks loose!

On the issue of communication: With all due respect, most of the people here don't do it very
well. Communication is both a science and an art, and takes a looooong time to master. Even
I after all am barely through my apprenticeship... :)

On the issue of thin skins: Once again, most of the people here have thinner skins than *I* do,
at least. But then again, I'm hardly a good baseline, having been called a cold heartless bastard
by my own otherSister. (otherSisters and otherBrothers are the classifications given to those
members of my family not related by blood.) We still get along great and love each other dearly.
But to an extent, at least, she's correct. I don't get upset too much. Not then and not now, though
in the period between I was a little strange. But my true point is this: The Men's Rights
movement doesn't invalidate the Feminist movement. The two could co-exist quite easily if
people would just pull their collective heads out of their collective asses and think for a change.

On the issue of Rape vs Testicle smashing: Both are rather ugly things. Being kicked in the balls,
at least for some men, can be as emotionally traumatizing as rape, and most men are physically
badly traumatized. It's not too unlikely to be rendered impotent or possibly even killed if
sufficient force is applied. However. As a general rule, Rape is more traumatizing than getting
kicked in the testicles. I was kicked in the balls once, by my own dear sister, over an imagined
offense. And DAMN did that hurt. I did not, however, find it to be emotionally traumatizing in
the least.

Right now I'm a little strung out, so this is all I'm writing for the moment. With any luck, I'll have
the opportunity to expound more later.

along those lines at least.

i don't see that if u have strong emotions that means u most likely will not communicate effectively. one cannot maybe control what emotion u may feel nor the intensity of them ( but some could argue otherwise), but u CAN control what u say and what u do because of them.

http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/laws/recounts.shtml

and search for the word "manual".

you'll find that bush signed a law in texas that says:

'If more than one petition for recount is filed and more than one method of counting is requested, a manual recount takes precedence over an electronic recount.'

what an incredible blunder on the part of the republicans! bush signs a law in his own state that demands the very thing he claims is unfair in his governing brother's state! bleh to him.

the sugar busters diet is FAR more attainable..and i think there's one that's even better than that, but i forgot the name.

the teeth whitening thing from the dentist i have. andf it works really well but get that toothpaste for sensitive teeth! i couldn't do it everyday for however long u were supposed to do it...i could do it about once every three days..then i just got sick of having my teeth hurt and now i've slacked off.
i wear it when i go to sleep so i don't have to be awake while there is a strange thing in my mouth. i hope someday i can afford to have the dentist do it in the office in two days...but they told me the results are better if u do the kind that u take home.
i need to get more disciplined and start doing that again...'cause drinking coffee and coke i think has yellowed my teeth again...but they are not as yellow as they were! so i am very happy :)

maybe i should get some of that rembrandt toothepaste, as well.
