it is really nostalgic and heartwarming
to show lili's dandelions for the first time because dandelions played such
an important role in my childhood and so are, pretty much, my favourite flower.
i always mark the first signs of spring starting with seeing the first dandelions
and seeing the first robin (which i finally saw one the other day on this
amazing bluff that overlooked the entire city).
the first thing i did with dandelions
with her was to, of course, rub her nose with one and make it all yellow :)
then in the following 2 days when i would pick her dandelions she would proceed
to do this herself.
she was immediately taken with them
and she holds on to them with an iron grip, holding them up to her nose and
mouth for almost our entire stroller ride/walk.
she hold them up to her face and sort of "hums" to them until she
eventually falls asleep from the vibrations of the stroller on the sidewalk
in the cool spring air :)
she is rolling all the time now so
i have to watch her like a hawk when she's on the bed so she doesn't fall
off.
a new kind of vigilance that i know is just the beginning.

i've still, somehow, remained on
atkins and today is my 8th day.
