2:10pm
so sleepy. i just got up but i think
i will try to get more sleep.
i haven't slept well in days. and then last night took some tylenolpn (safe
for pregnancy) and it has made me very woozy.
yesterday was good, we went to the hospital and registered there. the midwife
at the hospital was wonderful! my midwife recommended i see her. and i can
see why. i am really pleased to know there are midwives working in hospitals
that are so open to homebirths and the whole attitude of homebirths which
is basically that the body knows how to give birth and it is best if "medicine"
and other things just get out of the way of that process. it's all about the
mind and just getting the mind in the state that it supports and gets out
of the way of the bodies ability to birth.
(that's how i see it right now and that makes the most sense to me, but i'll
see how i feel after i've given birth :)
she said that she rarely ever sees anyone that has to get tranferred in to
a hospital from a homebirth because the people who homebirth have such a good
attitude towards birthing that everythihng usually turns out just fine :)
this made me happy to hear!
and she gave me good advice on walking a lot during labour instead of laying
in the bed. she said that walking it out really helps the process along and
leads ot less pain and complications.
also walking helps the bay to rotate into a good position if it hasn't already
rotated there.
she said that M and i had "good energy" and she had a really positive
feeling that everything would go well for us. i found this shocking for a
nurse to say this to me!
usually they do not say things like that. it always has to be based on something
scientific.
and she was so gung ho to talk about the mind body connection that it was
like a person who had just discovered it or something (which i think she had).
i was delighted that this kind of knowledge was making its way into hospitals
:)
lucky for the women who are in her care!
anyway, i can see why my midwife
insisted i see HER :)
then we went and sold some of my cds and i received very little $ for them
but it was good to get rid of more stuff anyway. i only got $50 for the lot.
then bought the new air cd with it, and some dried mangoes, yummy trail mix,
and some maple cranberry blueberry granola (slap my hippy ass).
then we went home and watched the
pbs special on the mormons (i'm so glad that m likes to watch these things
with me ) and then we watched some dangerman after that and the movie "children
of men" which was pretty ok but sometimes hard to follow. and we ate
greek salad and chicken.
took some tylenolpm and actually zonked out BEFORE 6am...which was a miracle.
now i am going to try and take another nap. i am absolutely wiped. i feel
like i need to sleep for days.
