i started to make a VERY spicy chicken soup today.

i MUST cover "destination unknown" by missing persons.
that and "don't fear the reaper" are the in top 2 songs for me to cover.
ha :)

when i was walking downtown today to the bank and it was time everyone got off work and were taking buses.
i was struck by the destitution.
and then when i went to the courthouse, it seemd like everyone that came out of there was a "man in black.
it was quite the dichotomy.
i'm still processing it all.

all that fruit made me so happy and content.
i needed that.
i'm watching CSI, and for the 1st time, there is narration that is going along with the entire thing describing every damn thing in detail for the visually impaired.
what the hell???
i've looked at the menu on my remote control and can see no way to shut it off.
i don't know what the deal is. this has never happened before and i don't know WHY it is happening.
i don't seem to have any control over it and it's the most annoying and perplexing thing!
i really want to watch this CSI episode but i don't think i can deal with this naration describing every last detail of the scene even louder than the characters voices! bah!

ok, kick ass, i kind of got chillcam's logo feature to sort of work again.
it hard to explain but i could not get it to work for YEARS.
but all of a sudden, with some experimenting i have gotten it to partially work in a way that makes no sense , yet is working.
but it means i had to make the small cam as big as the large cam.
i won't go into the boring details of why i had to do that.
so..now the big cam is a combination of the small cam (which is now big, too) overlayed at 50% transparency into the big cam.
*whew*
which i hope will lead to some cool effects for me to play with again.

the bad news is they cannot get connected for my show in newwark, delaware.
*sigh*

but at least now i can watch survivor.

looking up aztec lore, to find out what the "real" meaning of that statue could be.
because it not only seemed about sacrifice, but resurrection.
the 5 at the feet of the "god" and coming forth from them.

The god of the dead and resurrection into eternal life was Osiris and his parallels to Jesus are uncanny. Osiris once lived upon the earth in human form, after his death he was brought back to life by his wife began a new life in a realm where he was king, protector and judge of the deceased. Osiris would admit to his realm all souls that had lived a good and correct life upon the earth and had been buried with the appropriate ceremonies. Aztec lore tells of how their god Quetzalcoatl journeyed to the underworld, Mictlan, to restore humankind to life from the bones of those who had lived in previous eras. Triumphing over the Lord of the Underworld, Quetzalcoatl carried the precious jade bones beyond the dead land. He ground the bones up in a bowl and with the other gods, sprinkled them with his own blood thus restoring them to life. This gift of life had to be repaid in blood sacrifice by the Aztecs, death was the cause of life personified by vegetation dying then re-emerging. Death and life was a cycle, birth was an emergence from the spirit world and death a return to it. Mictlan was reached by the dead only after wandering for four years beneath the earth with a ‘soul-companion’ a dog cremated with the corpse.

Quetzalcoatl is associated with venus, the morning star, which is also the star associated with lucifer and why we have a rising star on almost all of our state flags, seals, coins, insignia.
lucifer is also depicted as the goddess hekate, who also guards the underworld, as we see her now as the statue of liberty, etc.

the more i look into the world's largest onyx statue, which is situated in the ramsey courthouse of saint paul,
the weirder it all becomes. and of course the fact that it weighs 55 tons, and rotates 66 degrees..all masonic numbers.
1st of all. those don't look like amercian (unless you mean south americam) indians to me.
they are abviously aztec.
i don't see any of them smoking a "peacepipe" nor do i see the "god" that comes out of this so-called peace pipe smoke, holding a peacepipe either.
remember yesterday i said i did not get a vision of peace from this, but a vision of sacrifice.

interestingly, it's made of "mexican onyx".

charles schultz, creator of the peanuts cartoon strip was born here.
and in 2000, they had 101 (interesting number) snoppy statues made and put them all over.

we brought one to manzilla mexico.

yes, i know that is also a mexican festival, but again with the death and again with the mexico.

also, at some point, poinsettas were banned from the courthouse because some people complained that thsi was too much of a tie in to aztec blood sacrifices.

i did not know about the poinsetta and the aztecs and how this ties in with their sacrifices.

also there are depictions of a black slave on one of the elevator doors.

In front of the City Hall and County Courthouse (1931) stands the large onyx statue Vision of Peace (the name was changed from Indian God of Peace in 1994) by the Swedish-American sculptor Carl Milles.

Exterior Reliefs

4th St. Entrance

Immediately above the Fourth Street entrance (pictured above) a city street scene shows a police officer, a mail carrier, a newspaper boy, a mother and daughter, a blind man, an elderly couple and a laborer - representing the diversity of urban dwellers. A traffic light, an automobile and a fire hydrant are included to indicate the benefits of modern technology to the city resident.

Above the street scene relief, a tall narrow window runs up to a monumental female figure symbolizing liberty. She holds an open book inscribed VOX POPULI and JUS CIVILE to reflect traditional governmental ideals.

A series of three small reliefs of city, county and state emblems (pictured below) continue around the building centered above each window. These are symbols for the State of Minnesota (an eight-pointed North Star); the County of Ramsey (a wash board stand with the scroll of the Territorial Declaration); and the City of Saint Paul (a castle supported on the hilt of an upraised Roman sword).

On the 4th St. (or North end) stair lobby there is a bust of Jose Marti (pictured above), presented to the City of Saint Paul, the home of Robert Butler, U.S. Ambassador to Cuba. It was presented in appreciation of his courageous work in creating a warm feeling between the two countries. Jose Marti was a Cuban writer and patriot, considered his country's greatest hero.
