the lion dream hat

here is the hat i made for lionbrandyarn.com. i am going to make a few more things, too, then send it off to them on monday.
it's getting dark out now so despite turning on every light in my room, i still could not get it bright enough to show this hat in it's full detailed glory and the photos are a bit blurry also because i lack of light.
i hope that before i send it off i can get some intricate photos of it in the daylight, because you're not seeing the colours, textures, and stitches very well in these photos....but you get the general idea!
and i just wanted to show you now :)
i didn't wander off and try anything completely new. i just did it (kind of) in the "hat of many powers" style that you see at the top of this page:

funny how this hat and that hat are of similiar colours and each has a little scarfy thing that comes down the side of it.
and then synchronicity that i had davmo's paintings in the background which made me go look up his site and see that painting of his again and then see how these 2 hats are in 2 ways similiar to each other.
round and round and round it goes!

now i must eat and get ready to go out.

it's actually a little sunny today.
i'm listening to coldplay.
today i must crochet and then at 7pm jason and i go to see camper van beethhoven.
i hope when we are there we can find a good spot to see the band. i hate standing and watching some sweaty guy's back for an entire concert, because i am so short.
plus with the no smoking ban they have now, at first i thought that was a good thing, but now with no smoke you can smell everyone who did not take a shower that day. and that can be just nasty.
thank god it is not an all ages show.
teenagers drive me nuts.
"just give me my fine imported beer and a comfortable chair and stay out of my way" says the older new wave woman.
it cracks me up to think of me "rocking out" to the pixies when i an 111 years old.
what year will it even be when i am that old?

i thought i was going to fall asleep early.
i could have gone to bed at 9pm.
but i stayed up until 10 and that was the mistake because it's always at 10pm i wake up.
at least i got some more crocheting done.
