little movements that make up a larger

mouseovers:

today i went to the historic society building or whatever it is called and saw the decades worth of pulitizer prize winning photojournalism.
it was very violent and depressing. it's interesting what we choose to focus on as a society.
the entire time we were in there, my dad and i could barely walk because our lower backs just KILLED!
it was kind of a strange thing that we were having the exact same symptoms at the exact same time.
i took it to mean that at some subconscious level we were empathizing with each other.
also that historic society building, TOTALLY masonic. masonic symbols everywhere everywhere everywhere.
i tried to point them out to my dad but he was completely uninterested.
but i'd like to go back there and explore that building further.
in fact i think i will go to the state capital building and inspect that closer, too.

as soon as i left the building my back was a lot better and so was my dad's.
but while we were in there we both had shooting pain in our lower backs.
it was very odd.
we both thought it was very odd.

then we went out to eat at a place called the wild onion. i'd always wanted to go there.
the food was really good.
it's funny there is this "mini burger" fad going on here. i don't know if it is anywhere else but miniature burgers are all the rage here.

i gave my dad 3 of my favourite books to borrow until i see him next. i told him he had no obligation to read them.
but just in case he wanted to peruse i gave him the i ching, the nature of personal reality and personal power through awareness.
hey..it can't hurt.

i also gave him my 2 schilling coin i got when i was in england. i don't know why, i just wanted to give it to him.

he gave me a big ol' concordance and this book on hebrew.

i know this sounds "out there", but after reading the unknown reality seth book about probable realities and selves and how we switch around in them a lot (which i already knew), it was interesting for me to note that i think i switched over to a slightly different probable reality dad...because #1 he was a lot more affectionate and supportive towards me and the real clincher when i knew something was up is when we were thinking of where we wanted to go for food he wanted to go to a mexican place, which is just COMPLETELY weird because my dad does NOT eat mexican food. it totally upsets his stomache.

and then when we went to the wild onion he ordered quesdidillas (however you spell it) which had hot peppers on the side which he was EATING.
this was so so so so soooooo not like my dad because my dad does NOT eat peppers.
he will not eat green peppers that are not hot and he CERTAINLY would not eat HOT green peppers. EVER!
i was like, "dad, green peppers really upset your stomache, i can't believe you are eating those!"
and he had NO idea what i meant. he said that green peppers had never bothered him EVER.

i know for a FACT that green peppers and ANYTHING spicy are something my dad avidly avoids!
so this was competely bizarre.

so i think last night when i put my intention out there into the universe about what i want in such a strong way, i must have definitely made some little shift there and now i am with a dad who is more open to me and also can eat hot peppers! and i knew the sign that we both were hurting in the same way at the same time meant that somehow we were more in synch with each other.

call it a bunch of new age hogwash if you want to.
but i really believe this and know it to be true!

so that was a really good thing!
and i am happy about it :)

today is cold and rainy/snowy grey.
despite having 2 cups of coffee and a coke i could fall asleep right now.

more about the historic building.
inside a huge corridor with 8 pointed stars everywhere.
a big painting of some guy with a huge masonic M embroidered above him, a huge glass case dedicated to a bunch of greek and roman stuff (why? this is the MINNESOTA historic society)
this corridor was COMPLETEY lined up with a view of the state capital.
some weird plaster deal with a train that did not look like a train with a big 151 on it, and 4 "telephone poles" arranged totally symmetrically so they look like the tau crosses.
and just a bunch of other stuff, i wanted to really look at it but our backs were hurting so much and my dad was almost so uninterested in it that it was more than being uninterested. it was like he was just closed off and not even wanting to know or even look.

then some photos of paintings that are in the capital. the biggest one featured a woman in a chariot being driven by 2 white bulls.
she was holding a sceptor and 2 angels at her head and 2 angels at her feet.

then "minnesota" people at her feet looking up in awe and worshipful poses. on the right, people who represented the government and on the left people who represented "the common man".

i said to dad, hey, i wonder why there is a woman holding a sceptor, which means she is a queen, being lead in a chariot with 2 white bulls?
of course he did not question it at ALL..but did say it reminded him that in the new chronicles of narbia movie the ice queen is in a chariot driven by 2 white polar bears.

we read the extremely vague description which said "this is a painting about prosperity and fertility".

looked up on the net who is a goddess who drives a chariot driven by bulls and it is selene, the greek moon goddess. of COURSE.
yes, i always think of the greek moon goddess selene when i think of minnesota history. dont you?

SELENE was the Titanis goddess of the moon.

She was depicted as a woman crowned with the lunar crescent and riding side saddle on a horse or in a chariot drawn by winged horses. Often however, she was described as driving a team of oxen, and her lunar crescant was likened to the horns of a bull.

There were a variety of other ancient moon-goddesses, or goddesses associated with the moon, such as Pasiphae, Eileithyia, Hera, Hekate and Artemis (the last two appear to have assumed the role when they were identified with the Thrakian goddess Bendis).

Selene, however, was described as the sole moon-goddess in most classical literature.

hekate is the statue of liberty...hekate holds the torch to the underworld. which brings new meaning to the poem at the statue's base:

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame,
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

there are 2 ways to read that.
and once you read up on hekate you'll maybe see it.

(it is interesting to note that hekate is always depicted as holding TWO "rods"
they are also not lit, like torches...but as time goes on she is holding 2 torches as she becomes "phosphorus" the "light bringer" (the same meaning as lucifer), and then this becomes "the angel lucy" who we see today as the statue of liberty)

i'm not saying any of this is BAD. but what is quizzical to me is that not only do people not want to question it, they seem to go OUT OF THEIR WAY to not question it.

not to mention all the other very weird symbols that were engraved into the floors and windows of the place and then the vague descriptions about them that just said "these various symbols look sort of like a this or a that, in fact they could be interpreted in a bunch of ways. don't they look familiar?"
and that is it.

well, one was the crown of osiris, and one was a triangle with some other insignia, and one was some weird star and another was something that looked like "silos" but i knew that was not the case.

of course NO one asks WHY the fuck are a bunch of greek, roman, and egyptian things all over the place in the MINNESOTA historic society.
no one wants to know WHY?

and why is the greek moongoddess selene depicted and we are all depicted as worshiping her?
doesn't that seem a little ODD to anyone?

then it was depressing to view the rest of the historic items there.
just really stupid crap about old records, the 50's malt shops, some pioneer stuff, a thing about tornadoes.

and in one small corner, oh btw, did you know that this used to be where the american indians lived until we took their land?
there was a nice display showing how the missionaries had come here and cut off their hair and served them christian holy communion and "saved them".

then there was another nice homage to the indians called 'half breeds" which were indians who had been bred with the white man.

and then there was a nice other tiny thing about an indian girl and far away in a dark corner, completely out of site or reach a beautiful embroidered outfit and then some WHITE girl dressed in american clothing on this television reading a script pretending that SHE was a little indian girl telling the story of indians from a little indian girl perspective.

oh and btw, indians did some nice bead work and they showed you a 2 inch square of that you could look at with a magnifying glass if you wanted to hunch down.

nice.
