if you had to pick between your or your computer...which one would you pick?
and i mean, you have to get rid of one from your life forever.
and by tv i also mean your vcr or dvd player.

and ya, i guess you can now watch dvds and movies and stuff on your computer, and the line between tv and computer is starting to blur, and in the future, it will probaly be completely one thing.

and to clarify, pretend you cannot watch dvds or download any tv programmes onto your computer.
anything tv related must be gone from your life...you cannot watch tv on your computer. for the sake of making this a more difficult choice

but for now...which one would you give up?

on a related note, i watched the emmy's tonight. and i never watch the emmy's very often.
there have been a lot of really great things on tv lately (and of course a TON of horrible crap, as always)
but..the emmy's were really good tonight. i was surprised by that.

so much good stuff nominated, lost, csi, the daily show, arrested development, the office, monk
david letterman's tribute to johhny carson was good and all the men cried.
and as much as i distrust the media, those bigger than life characters dan rather and tom brokaw giving a tribute to the late peter jennings...it did bring a weird tear to my eye. they are just such father figures.
these people have just have been in the fabric of my life from my childhood.
it's funny how nostalgic you can get about something you don't even particularily like, just because it's familiar.

and seeing william shatner win an emmy and then go "sing" the star trek theme with woman who (i think?) sang the song originally?
it rocked :)

even donald trump singing the theme to green acres was hilarious.

i didn't agree with a lot of who won...like patricia arquette winning for best actress in medium over the woman who plays the mother in six feet under. well, that is just WRONG. but...
and i'm getting pretty tired of everybody loves raymond winning EVERYTHING.

but ya...it was good tonight. i thoroughly enjoyed watching it, maybe a bit too much.
i am easily entertained tonight and feeling schmaltzy and cheesy.

i wish i didn't love tv so much.
i have so many things to do in this life!
but tv sucks me in. damn you tv, damn you.

but you give me a break from my overactive overanalyzing brain.
especially in the midst of such terrible times in this world right now.
sometimes it's good to just have something like that.

ooo, lost just won for best drama!
kick assss! :)

2:40pm

overslept. then had 15 minutes to get ready to go to jason's work company picnic thing which was at the metrodome and then we had tickets to see the twins.
i don't think i had been in the metrodome since i saw pink floyd there billions of years ago.
and i'd not seen a twins game since i was young and i saw them at th met, which was an outdoor staduim and was torn down long ago to make the world's largest shopping mall, mall of america.
i don't like to see baseball anyway. but inside a dome it ws even worse and more boring. also, i just kept thinking about what it would be like to be stuck in a place like that , in total darkness, for a week, with no food or water and place to go to the bathroom, people being raped and being shot at...committing suicide...as what just happened in new orleans at their dome.

so jason and i left after the 1st inning.
i am super tired.
we are going to watch a movie now called "the insider" , i think.
last night we watched "the legend of 1900" which was ok, kind of disney.
i'll write more later...

oh weird, we turned on the tv and it was the twins game that was just on. it's completely different than seeing actually right there in the dome.

Horoscope for Aries (September 18 2005)

Put yourself in someone else's shoes and you will get a better perspective of the situation you face and how to handle it. You have plenty of discipline and drive -- it's unlikely anyone will surpass you.

and

Big plans
You are inclined to make big plans and set long-range goals under this influence as well as to examine the goals you already have. The advantage you have now is your ability to see the whole picture and to think in terms of large structures. You are more inclined to think in ideal, abstract terms. But also your foresight and planning ability make this a favorable time for most commercial transactions and business deals. However, there is a negative side to this influence that can be destructive if you are not aware of it. You are sloppy about details and inclined to overlook any elements that don't fit neatly into your grand vision. Also there is a danger that in communicating with others you may adopt an arrogant or self- righteous tone that will alienate them and set them working against you.

and

You are so determined today to get what you want, but you may be thwarted every time you make a move toward your very practical goals. You will not be discouraged and instead, you are ready now to pick yourself up time and again to start all over. Although you aren't usually so persistent, it will play out in your favor.
