i'm really excited that this is the last day of august.
for the 1st time ever, i am excited for fall and totally ready for it to be here.

i'm just absolutely flabberghasted at what is going on in new orleans. i can't believe they are evacuating the ENTIRE city.
now they are bringing in helicopters and buses and stuff to get the last 20% of the population out.
why the FUCK did they not do this BEFORE the hurricane?
wouldn't have that made more SENSE to provide transportation to those who could not get out of there BEFORE the hurricane?
it pisses me off!

i hadn't been watching the news on it until just a few days ago (i try not to watch the news very often anymore because it depresses the fuck out of me). but then i saw it the last 2 days and i was in tears. is the french quarter under water, too?
and all those fabulous mansions in the garden district? and all those amazing cemetaries like lafayette?

it's hard to comprehend that there is so much devastation going on there right now, and here, it has just been wonderful weather!
i am SO glad i live in minnesota.
no hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanoes.
just blizzards every once in awhile.
and those rarely ever effect me because i don't drive.
and once the missisippi flooded pretty bad but it didn't reach up to where i live.
i'm really lucky to live where i live.

i haven't heard anything from nerve and i am taking that is not a very good sign. because i don't understand how long it would take a few people to decide if they like my photos or not and whether or not they would like to put a few up on their site for free to "audition" me. so...i don't understand how much deliberation could go on about something like that...
or maybe some key player in all this is not at work lately, maybe they are out sick or on vacation or something and so they have to wait for this persoon to get back?
i just don't know. it's all mysterious to me!
