i made a soup today although i overcooked
it because i forgot about it.
thankfully, i like my soup to be overcooked at the 1st stage.
so it is beef, potatoes, and onion salt, pepper, and cheap curry that doesn't
do crap.
the curry is just called "curry" and smells good in the jar but
is tasteless otherwise.
i need to get the REAL curry from penzey's spices. nothing can compare.
still, it tasted really good :)
deiter is freaking out having crazy wild time with one of sebastian's stuffed toys (and now a kong) and it's cracking me up! i think he has spring fever bad! sometimes he loses it like a wind up toy gone bezerk.
i better go play with him :)
11:24pm
your shoes and what they say about
you.
i believe you can tell a lot about a person by the shoes they wear.
if i met you on the street, what shoes would you be wearing?
btw, the theme for photocontest this
week is:
"my favourite pair of shoes"
so take a photo and enter!
+++
i'd be wearing my black boy's engineer
boots that i have worn in for about a decade.
there is till some glitter on them from art projects long gone.
but i need another pair soon cause the heels are getting all worn down finally.
what is a women's size 6 in a boy's size? i've forgotten.
but these are not the ULTIMATE shoes
for me. i wish i could design my own ultimate pair of boots.
someday i will....
if you could design your ultimate shoes, what would they be?
10:07pm
prince on the oscars:
does he ever AGE?
i will love the oscars so much more
when they do not separate between men and women anymore.
i think it's bullshit there is an actor and actress separation.
there is no reason for it to be like that. men should go up against women
and vice versa.

things i wrote in my LJ:
new favourite song:
"amazon" by M.I.A.
red red RED!
i dyed my hair 1/2 special effects nuclear red and 1/2 special effects cherry
bomb.
and my hair is now BRIGHT red, which is the colour i have been wanting it
to be for so long!
i had my hair this colour long ago for years and it's good to be back here
:)
the nuclear red is a tiny bit more orangey and the cherry bomb is a tiny bit
more pink. but you can only tell this subtle difference in the sunlight.
it will be interesting to see what colours they fade out to be.
i think , in the future, i will combine the 2 completely because what i want
is a mixture of the 2.
photos forthcoming :)
i look so decadent and feel so glamourous and carnivorous in bright red hair.
and with red lipstick it's da bomb.
i'm all ready to kick coke cans by the railroad tracks in my big red boots
to match and roar for spring :)
listening to roxy music's "for your pleasure" and "country life" albums.
i'm might sort of 1/2 assedly watch
the oscars. as usual, i haven't seen any of the films up for nomination.
i always end up seeing them later.
today i watched "garden state", and it was REALLY REALLY GREAT! i give it 4 stars.
1:50pm
the current
http://minnesota.publicradio.org/radio/services/thecurrent/
i love the new station here, "the current"
they will play marianne faithful,
patsy cline, talking heads, m83, johnny cash, ella fitzgerald, my bloody valentine,
new order...etc, all in a row!
(and they even play the blue up? once in awhile!)
plus real live djs who actually take your requests and actually are knowledgable
and love the music they are playing (which is picked by them, not some computer).
pretty darn cool! the cd quality
dtream doesn't work (at least for me), but the mono one works and sounds just
fine :)
12:16pm
i dreamed that the blue up? played
live and nothing went wrong. usually in dreams regarding live shows there
is always something that goes wrong, like all the amps are unplugged, or i
don't know any of my lyrics. but this time we did really well and every thhing
was fine. and it was an afternoon show so we got done with it all at 4:15pm.
and i think it was on a monday. we got asked back to always do monday shows
at that time and we accepted.
and i told the woman booking the show that i had a good time and that i think
it was because i didn't have any goal with the music other thna just to play
it (instead of having the goal to get on a major label or something) that
made it more enjoyable to me.
weird. kind of left in in a bit better of mood as i woke up today.
and i read bill nelson's diary he said he is playing at this show in brighton with all these amazing people a LOVE, one of them being JOHN FOXX! and so i am beside myself with frustration at living all the weay across the ocean from this!!!
"Which brings me to a very special
event: I've now been given permission to write about a concert that I'm to
be involved in on the 21st of May this year. It is (for want of a better term),
a tribute concert to my long-time and very dear friend Harold Budd. Harold
announced his retirement from performance and recording last year, his latest
album, 'Avalon Sutra' purporting to be his last. He played a farewell concert
in Los Angeles towards the end of 2004 but there is now going to be a similar
event here in the UK as part of this year's Brighton Arts Festival. A number
of artists are to take part in this and a band is being put together around
Harold for the final segment of the concert. The artists involved in this
are myself, Michael Nyman, Jah Wobble, John Foxx (of Ultravox), Steve Cobby
(of Fila Brasilia), Robin Guthrie (of Cocteau Twins), Steve Jansen (of Japan),
The Balanescu Quartet and others still to be confirmed. Channel Light Vessel
was once given the title 'ambient supergroup' by the music media but this
event promises to take that term somewhere else entirely. Harold has been
dropping me letters and emails over the last couple of months or so about
the project and I'm pleased to see that it is finally coming to fruition.
Harold naturally had some personal reservations about the project, unsure
of what stresses and strains might be involved but I think these have been
overcome. Everyone taking part in this event has a personal respect and love
for Harold and his work and it will be a privelege and sheer thrill for me
to take part and honour Harold alongside everyone else. And of course, I will
be absolutely terrified too. Neverthless, when all's said and done, it will
be an absolutely unique, one-off event that anyone who gives a damn about
the possibility of art within music should not miss. Booking details can be
found at:

i would freak the flip out to be
able to go to that show!!
i didn't even know john foxx played live anymore! *cry*
but to see and hear so many of my new romantic idols all in one night would
be sensory overload!
i mean, i even made a pastel drawing of steve jansen from japan and had it
in my high school locker!
and john foxx and bill nelson just arrrgh! i cannot even tell you how much
they mean to me!
and then a member of the cocteau twins!! and jah wobble!
and i'll bet you anything david sylvian will show up to this!
pretty much every beautiful person who exists on this planet right now will
be there. aaaaaaaaaa!!
i rrrreeeaaallly want to be there!!!
if i sold my piano or something....
Daydreaming
This influence stimulates your creative imagination and makes you much more
sensitive than usual to aspects of the world around you. While you may be
tempted to spend the day daydreaming, you will probably be more satisfied
if you read romantic literature and poetry or listen to music. This is a good
day for leaving the humdrum, everyday world and traveling in your mind to
a fanciful and pleasantly unreal world. Don't worry about wasting time. Everyone
needs to fantasize like this from time to time, and you are not likely to
get so caught up in it that you cannot return to reality. On the other hand,
you are much more sensitive to subtleties and can catch other people's moods
effortlessly. Your attitude is very sympathetic, and you genuinely want to
aid anyone who needs your help today.
