11:57pm

so... i'm moving to iceland and raising llamas.
i'll crochet weird hats, make experimental music and post it on the net.
i'll make soup, string, bonfires, and adopt many cute dogs and cats.
all i need from you is your friendship, help our home clean, and help me pay the electricity bill (and feed the llamas). we'll make our own world.
who is with me?
let's go...

5:12pm

1st avenue closes :(
for those of you from the twin cities:

my god. no way. i am in shock.

12:45pm

got up at 8:30am.
went to vote.
got to the voting place around 10:30am
the line wasn't too long, and there was no line whatsoever to register to vote, but i was already registered.
then i had 1/2 a quiznos sub.ham and swiss.
stopped at the p.o.
picked up some yellow leaves and put them in a book to press and dry,
took these photos you see here.
and now i must nap, even tho i had a red bull and an iced tea.
i am insanely tired all of a sudden.
carolyn comes over at 4pm to watch johnny depp on oprah with me, we are huge johnny depp fans and her tv only get in one channel , for some reason.
and then at 5:30pm people start arriving at jason's for movie night and to watch the election stuff come in.

one last plea to the nonvoters

"What you do is of little significance, but it is very important that you do it." - ghandi

i understand why some people are not voting today.
i could easily be one of them!
but it makes me sad.
i know the choices aren't great.
i know the electoral system sucks.
i know maybe the entire thing is even rigged.
and i'm NOT sure if kerry will be better about the war in iraq.

but i VOTED because:
1) i could be wrong! so why not vote? it can't HURT!
2) i know bush is crazy a fuck! you know ANYONE would be better!
3) kerry will at LEAST let women have the right to control their own bodies and he will not try to pass an amendment that forbids certain people the basic human right of marriage. this is VERY important!
if for any other reason, don't vote for YOU, for for the other people whose freedoms and lives are being trampled!
4) maybe your vote won't count, buy MAYBE it WILL! just on the chance that it will count, DO IT! it can't HURT! but letting out freedom's and the freedom's of others slip through our fingers just because we are apathetic is not at all cool! it is selfish! people are DYING, human rights are being trampled! people and the earth are SUFFERING, can you really sit back and do nothing when you have a CHANCE to help, perhaps?
PLEASE, how much time out of your day will it take to know that MAYBE you helped end SOME suffering? COME ON!
5) women DIED for our right to vote, don't let their deaths be in vain!
6) again, it can't HURT to vote, it's just an hour out of your day!
please, for the sake of the EARTH, please get out and vote just on the CHANCE that you really COULD make a tiny difference! it's not THAT much to do!
we, as americans, hold SO much power, please don't flip the bird at the rest of humanity and the environment and the animals and the planet, ok?
just do this ONE TINY THING in hopes that it will help out, ok?
just an hour out of your day. that's all. is that so much?
can you really look the young girl in the eye who was raped by her uncle and can't get an abortion, or that gay woman whose partner died and she has no rights or say in it or the people who are having the arms and legs blown off daily and tell them you couldn't take an HOUR out of your day?
it's so easy for us, especially the sensitive ones, to just be overwhelmed by it all and turn off our tv and go do something "fun" and eat some mac and cheese. but just one this ONE day, for ONE hour, just on the chance you could help end suffering do this ONE small thing. other people do not have the luxury of just "tuning this out".

please participate. please don't give up.
giving up is losing, and you are not the only one who loses, we ALL lose.
