9:29pm

dum ditty dum.

8:22pm

i hope the imuze guy gets back to me soon, because i am just too curious about all of this and actually kind of excited, but i don't want to get my hopes up too much.

jason is over and we are watching csi.

i think i'll go to bed early maybe.

6:44pm

i'm just being too pessimistic again, perhaps.
it's easy to slip into when i'm feeling low energy.
things are good. life is good.
i just need to recharge my batteries, that's all it is.

3:00pm

i have zero desire to do anything. i'm still recharging my batteries.
just trying to stay on top of the basic stuff like take out the garbage and do the dishes and laundry.
i wish i had it in me to power clean.

still talking to the imuze guy about the hat thing. and he is going to talk to his partners from france when they come over to visit him in new york for a business trip on the 20th. he makes it sound all "jet setty". they will talk about all the questions i have for him, like do i get a cut of all sales or what? and do i get my name on the label and now he is thinking it might be cool to have the label say "ana voog for imuze" or something. hmm.

when this gets more serious i will get a lawyer. although i have no idea who. but...i'll figure it out.

the only thing that is really eating me about this, mostly, is that the hats will be sent out to turkey or china to be made. and i just have a weird feeling about that. the imuze philosophy seems to be about:

"We’re makers of clothing that is conjured by the mind and woven with the heart. In the end, that means that we care enough to put the art back in fashion."

and are my hats going to be "woven with the heart" if made by underpaid labourers from china or turkey?

but then i have not been to the factory and do not know these people so maybe they are being paid fairly. but isn't that why you go over to china or turley to have your stuff made...because these people do it for TOO cheaply?

and their t shirts say slogans like "embrace world music, it's the wave of the future"
and

"activism...who says a princess can't protest? get up, stand up, and fuight fr YOUR rights"
"activism...it's not just for hippies anymore"

and "united federation for mankind....people for people"

shouldn't they also be paying people a fair wage?
but i am just assuming on what little i know of people who work in textiles in those countries. but it's not like i have heard good things about it.

and what does THIS mean? " don't be a yoko...keep it together" ???

ok, and then they have this one for pride of the military which...rrrr

and just...i dunno. go look at their t shirts and their logos and messages on them and tell me what you think of this company, ok?

i guess , if i didn't need the money, i wouldn't do it because this thing stinks like a bunch of people who are trying to be hip and cool and jump on some sort of...i dunno...empty messages...i can't put this into words yet. you know what i mean? like yay, peace and love and unity and now let's go make underpaid people in factories make our stuff about unity and fighting for rights and blah blah blah.

but you, i need the money! they want maybe about 8 hats. and i could make several thousand dollars or more. and you know, there is nothing stopping them from just buying my hats and sending them off to china and turkey without my consent and just making knockoffs of them because that happens in the fashion industry ALL the time....so i may as well PROFIT from some of it if they are just going to do it anyway.

you know? augh.

this puts me in a real weird quandry about so many things.

and i will definitely tell them all of this i am saying here as their whole imuze philosophy is to "speak your mind".

ok, you know what? maybe what i will do is tell him that he must send me to turkey or china so i can see where these things will be made. and that way i can also show them firsthand how they are made. because, and i don't mean to be arrogant, but they are NOT going to figure out how to make the masterpiece hat and other hats like that. there is just no way. so, i should go over there myself and show them. and this way i can see the conditions for which my hats will be made. and i can learn more about the world.

if these people can afford to fly all over the place and pay me 500 or more per hat and whatever, they can pay for me to go to china to make sure that their hats are made the RIGHT way, etc. i don't want my name on a hat that is made completely wrong and awfully. or made by slave labourers.

so ya. that is what i will do, perhaps.
i've always wanted to see china. and even turkey. turkey is dangerous, tho, isn't it?
see, i am such an american...i don't even know.

but ya, i want to know what this is ALL about. i'm not going to be just some little designer over here removed from the process.
