2:41pm

i got up at 2pm, which actually is 1pm so that is pretty good for me :)
had a red bull and am listening to 80's music to get me going.
looked at how much i have in the bank today and i do have enough to pay rent so that makes me happy.
now i need to get the money together to pay for the server, phone, and electric.

it's 66 degrees out and kind of windy. it makes for a bit of excitement in the air :)

4:06am

flexeril and darvacet do not have much effect on me.
all they do is make me a little bit tired, but other than that, i don't notice much of a difference.
the flexeril os 10mg and the darvacet is 100mg.
i didn't take them together.

strange.

i thought i was going to fall asleep at 2am, but then i got hungry for baba gaunouj (or however you spell it). it's the stuff like hummus but it has eggplant in it.

tomorrow i must get to the bank and deposit a cheque i got for a hat quite some time ago. then i must pay my rent and hope everything works out ok.

i need to sell some more things.

it's good it's my birthday this month, my dad usually gives me $100 for my birthday. that will really help a lot if he does it also this year!

it's also going to be 67 degress out! i MUST get outside and take pix!

i really like the way my hair looks on cam much more than i like how it looks close up "in real life".

i think i need to take some sex klown pix with my hair like that :)

from my hat journal:

crocheting vs. knitting

do you ever feel there is a little bit of hostility between crocheters and knitters? just this little bit of catty competiveness or something?
it's really subtle. and i've found myself many times feeling caught up in it. like when everyone, even my boyfriend, calls what i do "knitting", it irks me. crocheting just seems to be so overlooked most times. crocheting is some weird underdog. the black sheep of the knitting type world. i feel really stupid to ever feel this "vs" thing going on and getting caught up in it. it's seriously ridiculous of me.
i really want to learn to knit and just incoorporate that into my repitoire so it doesn't feel like some east coast snooty aunt looking down her nose at my west coast hippy squiggle sculptures. there was this one woman in the knitting community who expressed such a hate of crocheting that she couldn't even stand that she owned 1 crochet hook that she used for hooking in the ends. just...wow. i dunno. and i do, shamefully, admit, that sometimes i almost feel like i want to go into the knitting community and "recruit" stray knitters over to "the other side" :)
especially when they cry that their thing they were knitting turned out to be too small and mis-shapen. i just want to say, "if you had crocheted it you would have known what size it was turning out to be the whole time! come, come to the dark side of crocheting. you will like it better!" god, i am so weird sometimes. or i've had knitters tell me that they could knit my hats. and i'm like..."ummm...no, you couldn't knit a weird shape like that. only in crochet you can knit weird shapes like that." but what do *I* know? i do not knit! for all i know, maybe you could knit my hats. why do i feel such a huge desire to defend crocheting? i'm like some guy ranting about how his sport is the king of all sports and how his team will kick anyone's ass. give me beer and i could probably riot about crocheting vs knitting (ok, i exaggerate a bit....but just a bit :).
i'm going to start spraypainting "crocheting rules!" in the alleyways.

this is just a silly entry.
but it's just one of those things that irks me and gets under my skin every now and then. please forgive my immaturity.

another fiber rant (and i hate that word "fiber", can't we think of something else that isn't related to a smooth bowel movement?) is how spinners get all snooty about "workable yarn" vs. "novelty" yarn. when fuzzybumblebee and i learned to spin, our teacher was all "anti novelty yarn". i brought it all my most fave yarn that was made by pluckyfluff, which is the yarn that made me know i had to learn to spin, and i wanted to know how one would make something like it. and the teacher was just so snooty about it. saying dismissively, "oh, that's novelty yarn". and i'm like..."and??..."

what is UP with that? why is novelty yarn considered some sort of black sheep of the yarn family?

*huff puff stomps foot like a small child*

maybe it's ME who is the one who is turning into a bit of a snob.
hmmm. i better watch it!

*snort*

i think we should call fiber "spinnish"
as in, "i'm going to spin me up summa that spinnish!"

or "ooo, what kind of spinnish is that yarn made from?"

and instead of saying we are fiber artists, which always makes me feel like i am a person who works with hay or metamucil, we could say we are spinnish artists :)

(and now i have a little song in my head i've made up about being spanish and eating spinach and spinning spinnish).

or electrickat would have named her pug "zoozie" if he had been a girl pup.
maybe we should call fiber "zoozie".

"ooo, that zoozie sure is soft!"
"my fave zoozie to work with is alpaca!"
