here is a hat i've finished, and
another hat i've started.
i have, once again, rethunk (is that a word?) my hats for the show.
i've decided not to do these really tasteful intricate hats because
#1 no one is going to be able to see the detail i put into them when these
things are on a stage
and
#2 there are going to be rock bands playing and just the whole vibe of this
thing is not one of taste or delicacy.
so i've decided to go with plan C. which is big bold shapes and big bold colours you can see a mile away. better to go with the flow in this case, imo.
plus these hats will take a wee bit less time to create so perhaps i can still make 20 hats for the show, or at least 15. although i still am fighting with myself over whether or not i am going to try and put together some sort of outfits that the models will wear as they wear my hats, or whether i will just say "screw it" and let someone else decide for me (which sends shivers down my spine). i guess i will just cross that bridge when i come to it, although i cannot help but ruminate about it every waking second anyway.
2 things i am contenplating for the
models to wear:
#1 i buy stretchy black fabric and i make them all tube dresses
#2 i have about 50 vintage slips and i bring them all and hope the models
can fit into them
but it really is way more complicated than that because what do they wear for shoes? just go barefoot? and do i do all of their make up myself? which probably also means body paint, which means that i will have to find 15 models by myself to get ready?
don't give me advice. i'm just typing
outloud.
it's very complex. which is why i just want to throw my hands in the air and
just show up with my hats and have someone else figure it out for me, which
i may very well do.
