a dream bionicgurl had:
"Last night
I dreamt I was on a sailboat with dan and we were sailing to a little island
to deliver a little sail boat to you. When we got to the entrance of the island
I was amazed to see an archway of trees all growing glitter.
You lived in a big dome house and the ceiling opened with a remote control.
You had crochet sculpture as furniture and bjork was sitting at your pink
baby grand piano.
You told me that tomorrow will be a better day than yesterday and it is ok
to eat soup with a fork and a straw if I wanted to.
The boat was a trade with dan because you crocheted silk sails for the boats
he made and the silk sails were magic and made the boats fly.
At your boat doc there was a d.j playing music and people sitting in a crochet
circle wearing wings.
You gave me a little white basket full of tiny yarn eggs that were spun from
some kind of fiber that you had been growing in your garden. The fiber was
for making wings that really fly and I unraveled the yarn and it suddenly
lifted me off of the ground and flew me over the ocean and all the way home:)"
3:51pm
wow, the time just whizzed by...i
don't even know where it went!
i feel a little discombobulated! i must get my act together!
isn't discombobulated a great word?
i'm trying to learn everything about
all the various types of fibers there are in the world to spin. which is a
HUGE subject.
trying to figure out what is a good price and what is not a good price for
things. and trying to figure out after i spin it, how much should i charge
for the yarn? it's very complex and confusing.
i think that i may just have to deal with the fact that when it comes to spinning and crocheting, i am never going to be paid a fair wage for the work i put into it. i think all i can hope for is just to make a bit more than the materila it cost me to make it. but as fra as charging for the actual hours put inot a project, i don't know if i will ever be paid a fair wage for that.
of course, i haven't given up entirely on that. but that is just how it look so far,
not that that would deterr me from crocheting and spinning...i do crocheting and spinning because i absolutely LOVE to do it, and would probably even do it still if i lost money. but losing money is not in my plan :)
my plan is this, i will always have $100.00 to spend on fiber to spin. i will spin it, then i will sell as much yarn to make $100.00 back. then any extra yarn i made after that is mine to keep. then i buy $100.00 of fiber again. rinse. repeat.
through doing this simple plan, i will eventually figure out how much money i can expect to make from what i do.
i am torn now between wanting to buy tons and tons of cheaper wool or buyng smaller amount of luxury...like cashmere and angora. mmmmm :)
i think i may go for luxury! what could be a better way to spend your time than to feel angora spinning in between your fingers?
please respond with 45 to 48 minutes.
