3 potholders i bought |

at 5pm jason and i are going out
for pizza..
and then to see the movie "a mighty wind"
1:46pm
i gave all the monsters a bath yesterday
and they are all so soft and squeaky clean :)
12:00am
pictures really do not do justice
to these potholders.
the textures and detail are astounding.
each one is a testiment to discipline,
focus, and meditation.
and they are mandelas just as holy as in any tibetan monastary.
how many pies, cakes, and casseroles
were served with these?
and who were these women and what were they thinking as they pulled their
creations out of the oven?
each potholder perhaps contains in it a secret language to another world. the secret inner lives of housewives...quiety communicating with space aliens with their special decoder potholders.
potholders that come to life at night
like sea creatures.
floating in midair life ufo sanddollars...and drinking from bowls of sugarwater
as they purr and turn colour.
these are some of the things i think about when i see these.
a man, a professor of a college, collected all of these potholders throughout his life.
he died and now the textile center
of minnesota is showing them and selling them off for dirt cheap. 5 bucks
to 10 bucks! while butt ugly tiny woven purses in their store sell for $75.
why is this? why do we put so little value on these precious mandelas?
and who was this man? what did HE think about as he collected these treasures
and held them in his hands?
the secret life of housewives...
the taken for granted potholder.
the holy potholder.
i do love thee so. :)
