Dear Courtney,

Hello! I AM your bass player!
I am the guitarist/bassist/singer/songwriter for The Blue Up? (Rachael Olson...now my name is Ana Voog)
We've met before when you were on tour with B.A.D., dada, Richard Butler, etc.
and you told me that you liked my album Cake and Eat It.
I played guitar live, but I played the bass as well on the albums.
If you have your parts already written, I can learn them. If you want me to write them, I can!
(and beeeaaauuutiiiful parts at at that!)
My fave parts to write is bass and harmony.
If you listen to The Blue Up?'s last cd (Spool Forka Dish included in this box) I know you will agree that I am more than qualified for this position!
I don't need to be a leader of a band any more like I was. BECAUSE I am a good leader , I am a good follower.
I know what you need and what it takes.
I've recorded 5 cds, been on 2 major labels, I know the ropes.
and I am SANE. No head trips or ego trips. No weirdness. Just a really nice kind KICK ASS cool-as-fuck girl ready to work and make it all come together for everyone.

I've always wanted to work with you. and when I heard you put that ad in the paper, I jumped at this chance!
It's weird because I was just saying I wished I could find some cool band to join that i could be a bass player and do background vocals. and VOILA. Cool how the universe works :) (could I please use the word cool a few more times? )
I am ready to dedicate all my time to your project. I can relocate.
Not to be arrogant, but I am so completely the perfect choice for you!
I can sing up a storm, I look cool as hell, and I can play bass/ guitar VERY VERY WELL (and even a bit of keyboards).
I think our influences are the same. We are on the same page. We are the same age.
I am funny, mellow, hard working (god, this is sounding like a personals ad!)
aaaaa.....how do I type all this out? I can't! I do hope i am not too late in getting this box to you.
I hope you will call me so you can get a better idea of who I am. This is really awkward and one dimensional to write this out.
So frustrating!

You aren't going to find a more unique, creative, down-to-earth yet unusual, dedicated girl for this job!

PICK ME :)
I will not let you down.

At least just call me so I can convey this to you better.

Oh, I should let you know what I've been doing lately, just for the heck of it.
After The Blue Up? got off Columbia because our A&R guy (who was the vice prez of A&R) was fired for being too creative,
I decided I wanted to do an electronic album and to change The Blue Up?'s name to ANA.
I just wanted to work on something new and fresh. But the rest of the band didn't want to do anything electronic so we just sort of faded away. I became ANA by default. and there was already an Ana in Brazil or somewhere, so I became Ana Voog.
I was signed to Radioactive/MCA, but as you may know, Gary Kurfirst is a sadistic narcissistic psycho and made my life a living hell. After 2 year of mindfuckery he finally released me.
During that time, because he was sitting on my cd and I needed cash and something to do...I started a webcam in 1997.
Anacam was the 1st webcam to call itself art and the 2nd 24/7 one (www.anacam.com)...and I started the entire "webcam as art" craze that seems to be dying down now.
So, for the past 6 years, I have been "living my life online", in front of a webcam. 24/7!
That has been a weird strange trip that landed me on HardCopy and singing on VIBE and international papers all over the world and even in MoMA. and that is how I still make my living to this day.
So that has all just gotten me back into my visual art. I do photography, sell my paintings on ebay, live my life how I want, and have become obsessed with crocheting strange hats :)
If you would like a password into my site, let me know. I am very proud of it. I have done some amazing photography and there are around 30,000 photographs in there.

But now I am ready to sink my teeth into music again...but I don't want to be the leader of a huge project. I want to be the bass player/background vocalist. But I've just been waiting around to see what comes up because I'm not going to join something unless it's absolutely fabulous. and then you put that ad in. so now is my chance to jump at it! :) so here I am! :)

hello hello hello :)

Sincerely,

Ana Voog

and then i stuffed the box with candy, poms poms, stuffed animals, dolls, hello kitty stuff, and other strange things.

and i am now getting ready to go mail it :)
